The Live Cooking Show · Signature

A Live 5 Course Cooking Show in Your Kitchen.

A dinner your friends will keep talking about.

Chef Alecia arrives two or three hours before your guests, unpacks, and sets the ingredients out on the counter where everyone will be able to see them: the scotch bonnets, the ginger, the fish, shrimp, chicken and whatever the season hands her that week.

She gets to work and people drift in to watch. The show hasn’t begun, but watching the prep with a glass of wine is half the fun. The smells begin to take over the kitchen, and it draws everyone closer. Then it’s time to sit. She cooks five courses over about three hours and talks the whole way through it. Where the dish comes from. Why it’s made that way. What her grandmother did differently, and why. Throughout the meal there is laughter, questions, jokes and somebody usually ends up at the counter with a spoon in their hand.

The fruit flambé is lit in front of you — a perfect ending.

This is what she loves to do. It was in Negril for twenty years, and now it’s here for you.

How an evening runs

Four beats.

  1. She arrives two to three hours ahead.

Dinner shows start at 6:00 pm. She arrives two to three hours ahead to set up, depending on the size of your party. Earlier works too — just tell us on the form.

  2. Guests sit at the counter or the table.

Whichever puts them closest. She wants to be able to hand plates directly. Wine glasses full. Music low.

  3. Five courses come out over three hours.

Soup, salad or an appetizer, a fish course, the main, and dessert. She talks while she cooks. Why those two spices belong together. What the pimento is doing besides tasting good. What her grandmother did differently.

  4. She cleans the kitchen.

You do not touch a dish. She leaves it the way she found it.

Frequently asked

The questions people actually ask.

What does the price include?

All the food, all the juices, all the prep, all the cleanup. Chef Alecia arrives with the ingredients and leaves with the trash. She brings her knives, her ramekins and the pots she cooks with — from your kitchen she’ll need frying pans, a few mixing bowls, and plates and glassware for your guest count.

How many guests can she cook for?

Minimum 6 guests. Comfortable up to thirty. Parties over twelve get a kitchen assistant included.

How long does the evening take?

Plan on about three hours from first course to last. She arrives two to three hours ahead to set up, and stays after to clean the kitchen.

Where does she cook?

In your kitchen. Sarasota, Bradenton, Siesta Key, Longboat, Lido, Anna Maria Island, Lakewood Ranch, Venice, Osprey, Nokomis, Palmetto. Free travel inside 25 miles of Sarasota, and free anywhere within 75 miles for parties of ten or more.

Can she handle dietary restrictions?

Yes. Vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, nut allergies, seafood allergies. She has cooked around all of them for twenty years. Tell us on the inquiry and the menu comes back adjusted — not a separate plate that looks like an afterthought.

How do I book?

Send an inquiry with your date, guest count, and city. You will get a menu and a quote back within one business day. A 30% deposit holds the date. The balance is due 48 hours before the event.

Do you travel outside Sarasota?

Yes. Free within 25 miles, and free anywhere within 75 miles — Tampa, St. Pete, Punta Gorda — for parties of ten or more. Farther than that, note the location on the inquiry and we’ll quote travel and lodging with the booking.

What if I need to book on short notice?

Ask anyway — if the date’s open and there’s time to shop, she’ll make it work. Bookings made inside seven days are paid in full at booking and non-refundable, since she’s already shopping.

What if we’re renting a house?

Tell us on the inquiry form. Rental kitchens vary, and we’ll check you’re set up before the date — if the plates and glasses are short, we can arrange rentals and pass the cost through.
